  • 14 oz can tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup applesauce, unsweetened
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke (Substitute 1 tsp cider vinegar if going organic)
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose white or white whole wheat flour
  • 2 - 2.5 lb pork loin roast

  1. In a large slow cooker, add all ingredients except pork and flour, and whisk to combine.

  3. Remove meat from slow cooker and shred with 2 forks.
  4. Add flour to the slow cooker and whisk to combine. Return meat to slow cooker. Stir to combine. Cover and cook for another 15-20 minutes.
  5. Serve warm, on a bun with your favorite toppings or on a bed of brown rice/quinoa. For a low carb option serve with salad.
  6. Storage Instructions: Refrigerate for up to 3 days, covered.
